Lily may have suffered a stroke

After falling out with my vet big time this morning after discharging Lily when she was worse than ever and telling me to stop fussing about her, take her home and if she collapses completely to take her to the emergency vets now. I rushed her to another vets, they were stunned she had been discharged like that and after a good examination said there was a chance that the drugs could have caused her to have a small stroke.
Its heartbreaking as Lily doesn't recognise us at all and seems scared of us even here at home. She is very disorientated. The vet I rushed her too has taken her in for the afternoon and put her on a drip as she has been dribbling since yesterday and not drunk anything, she is also going to watch her. She said she will speak to me later this afternoon and decide whether she would be best coming home or going off to the emergency vets where she can be watched all night.
I'm so upset at the moment but am certainly going to complain to my old vets and wondered if there was a vet body I could complain to as well.

Oh god that's awful!! Poor Lily and poor you How disgusting of your other vet. Complain to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. They have a procedure you can go through. Look on their website.

Oh I don't know what to say apart from how sorry I am to read this.

Unfortunately I suspect it is true for most of us who've had bad experiences with some vets that we don't find out until they've either done something they shouldn't have or omitted to do something that they should have - to the detriment of one of our beloved pets.

It's when you get a serious problem you need a good vet.

I do hope Lily makes a good recovery - it must have been very upsetting and frightening for you to see her like that.

I'm so sorry to read this. I have everything crossed that Lily makes a full recovery and I wish you every success in getting to the bottom of what the heck this vet thought he was playing at!

Hopefully she will pull round from the stroke with time. She certainly seems to be in the right place now.
