I would be inclined to try to stick with the Erythramycin if possible. Just keep observing good hygene practices and as the AB will destroy the guts naturally occuring bacteria try adding natural probiotic yoghourt to feeds, which would be best if fed as 4 small meals a day. Whitefish or cooked chicken and rice is good - or as a ready prepared food tinned Chappie is frequently recommended.
You should find that the sickness and diarrhoea will lessen as the course of ABs work their way through the dogs system. Good luck with your poorly one.
