Dog left for dead in Turkey ready for new home after rescue by British holiday-maker.

Eileen Jones, 55, spotted the wounded canine, who was left blinded in one eye and unable to open his jaws after being attacked, while on holiday with her daughter in Kusadasi, Turkey in July.

The dedicated animal-lover was shocked when she witnessed locals pelting rocks at injured spaniel cross Jack, whose eye socket was rotting from an infection.

The dog-lover flew back to Turkey in October to check whether the poor dog was still alive.

The stray, who is thought to be around three years old, has since undergone a catalogue of operations to remove shards of broken bone shattered in his jaw and to clean the bullet wound to his eye.

He was also treated for a host of infections, including worms.

I have been following the fortunes of Jack who has been fostered here in Worcestershire and I am delighted to learn he has secured a lovely new home with a lady in Oxfordshire
