Russian millionaire to sell 'diamond car' for dogs' home

A millionaire Russian student is putting her crystal-encrusted Mercedes up for sale to raise money for Manchester Dog's Home.

Daria Radionova plans to put her silver Mercedes under the hammer to help the arson-hit home, which was destroyed by fire earlier this month.

The 21-year-old covered her £50,000 car in £20,000 of Swarovksi gems because she wanted to do something ‘unique and special’.

Daria Radionova said “I want to raise money for the homeless animal shelter in the UK that was burned a few weeks ago, the one in Manchester,” she told The Tab.

UPDATE

Ms Radionova has now put the car for sale in the eBay charity auction at a starting bid of £90,000 but contrary to her initial statement that the car was being sold for charity to help the Manchester and Cheshire Dogs' Home, it does not appear to be entirely accurate.

'A part from the sale will go to support Manchester and Moldova Dog Homes.'

The London-based student, who lives 300 feet from her favourite shop Harrods, boasted before putting the silver-coloured coupe on sale: 'When I sell the car I will give the money to charity.'

It was not clear last night if any other causes would benefit from the glittering car which was valued at around £25,000
