Callous thief steals cash collected for Manchester Dogs Home

CCTV footage shows a thief brazenly taking the money collected by well-wishers for Manchester Dogs Home.

The community rallied round to help after 60 dogs were killed when a fire ripped through the centre.

The clip shows a man visiting Jollyes pet food shop in Ashton-Under-Lyne, Tameside, and acting suspiciously at a counter with the collection box.

Customers were thought to have collected up to £50 for the Harphury dog’s home.

Jollyes pet food shop started its own collection after the fire on September 11.

In the footage, the offender can be seen walking down the aisle and checking to see if anybody is around as he shuffles around the counter before stealing the box.

It was taken shortly after 3pm on September 16 and police are now hunting for the person responsible.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were aware of the theft and have launched an investigation.

I know what I would like to call the thief but I do not think it would pass the swear filter.

Not sure where exactly, but in some part of the world punishment for that would be losing your hands.Pretty extreme but sometimes, like in this case I wonder if they don't have the right idea!

Lacey10 - It is in Saudi Arabia (Maybe other Arab countries too) I once parked in a town centre there and noticed a brief case on the roof of the next car, no one around, I went into the shopping centre for about two hours, when I came out the brief case still there!!! That was about 20 years ago, sadly the Western nations have recently been pressurising Saudi to relax their criminal code so of course crime in the country has been rising rapidly.
