The Dogs Trust are visiting schools in Dorset to teach children how to be safe around dogs.

The 'Be Dog Smart' Campaign is aimed at 7 to 11 year olds.

S-J Leslie is the Dogs Trust Education and Community Officer for the South and is one of 22 Education Officers working with local schools to educate them about how to be aware of dogs in a fun and engaging way;

“Animals have feelings and they are also unpredictable, you never know how a dog is going to react. So we advise them to approach all dogs in the same way, sensibly, calmly and following some of the guidance we give them.”
