Dog passes out from overwhelming joy

Awwwwww

A pet dog's reaction to a family member returning home after 2 years... which in fairness is 14 years in dog years.

The family member was living and working in Slovenia, and didn't return home to Murrysville, PA last year, because her whole family (except Casey) came to Bled for her wedding.

It did cross my mind Dobermonkey (I can't see why a healthy dog would faint from sheer excitement otherwise). Tho I guess this little dog was v e r y excited..

I was a bit dubious too. I have heard those noises from a dog in pain?

I would be rather concerned if that was my dog .

Fainting 'syncope' in dogs when stressed or excited can be due to lack of oxygen to the brain and a symptom of a series medical condition including heart disease.

Minis are susceptible to 'synacope' and my previous Mini Amy had episodes just like that (without the squealing) . She had developed a heart condition .

Hi DM not that I am aware of. It is ' a sudden, momentary loss of consciousness with spontaneous recovery'. caused by lack of oxygen to the brain.
