RIVERSIDE COUNTY, Calif. - Riverside County Animal Services impounded 61 dogs on Saturday from a property in unincorporated Riverside County, just outside the city of Riverside.

When firefighters first arrived they saw light smoke coming from the home's attic. CAL FIRE reports crews were expected to be on scene for for about 2 hours.

Due to the damage of the home the dogs were transported by Riverside County Animal Control officers to a shelter in Jurupa Valley.

All shelties or shelty mixes, none of the dogs were believed to be hurt during the incident.

The owner of the dogs surrendered ownership clearing the way for these animals to be adopted.
