How can I find an obediance/social class

Hello all

Barney is 5 1/2 months old now, and I want the kids to be able to take him to obedience or puppy socialisation classes.

He's fine for me, and mostly OH, but the boys are far too woolly and inconsistent with him!!

How can I find a reputable one in my area (N Works/S B'ham) and what should I look for when I take him

Hi Sioux, The kennel Club will have a register of quite a number of Obedience Clubs, you can find them at

http:/thekennelclub.org.uk/

Look for Activities and Events and then scroll down to obedience. you can either phone them or E.mail them for help.

You could also ask at your local pet/food shop, or anyone with an obviously well behaved dog that you meet when you are walking Barney!!! Kath (logoes)

The Kennel Club also has a list of clubs for the Good Citizen Dog Scheme which is a great way to introduce your little one to classes and get recognition for it. http://www.thekennelclub.org.uk/acti...d_citizen.html

Your local vet, RSPCA or Dogs Trust may be able to suggest classes too. Go along once just for a look and see if you're happy with the way the trainers seem to be working with and interacting with both the dogs and handlers. If you're uncomfortable, keep looking.
