...yes looks like a 'grey' and not a young one judging by its teeth...
Very sad but not a bad life swimming the seas...

It was the teeth that 'attracted' me to take the picture. First I was struck by how white they were and then by the fact that every tooth is (sorry for being un-technical) a pointy one.

That so wasn't a link!!!!
Bit of a shock as I scrolled down there..bless it.
Not a bad pic I hasten to add, given most of the seal was gone! :smt002

Mini I saw the thing about the seal on the local news last night, the lady who found it was on. She found it in the middle of nowhere, by a very quiet country road. She phoned her husband (a farmer) who had the vet out anyway, he said 'bring it home in the car'...not realising quite how big it was!!! They showed a couple of photos, big healthy looking seal. Noone knew how on earth it had got there. Just hope there wasn't any foul play involved!

Been changed to a link now - just went through the usual routine of adding a pic. (Habit)

Minihaha mentioned that story - very strange !

4 miles or something from the sea.

Perhaps it could make it's way through streams / field drains perhaps ?

MMmmm its really been eaten hasnt it! What fantastic jaws they have! I expect its meat provided a lot of nutrition, i.e fat etc.. for a good few sea animals.
Dawn.

For the first time today. I took my dogs to the beach (visiting friends in Wales) It was near Port Meirion where the prisoner was filmed lovely beach. We parked on the beach and I got out and saw what I thought was a large boulder. On closer inspecion I noticed it was a seal or something. It was pale cream though, not grey like your picture. Didn't get closer to investigate to be honest as didn't want the dogs going near it, but it was entire not eaten like the one on the link. Anyone got any guesses what it was. Don't remember seeing flippers either. It was about 1.2 metres long and thats all I can recollect.

Seals carry all sorts of nasties. Hopefully your dogs didn't help with the 'disposal' of it
