Fear

Am I posting in the right section?
Does anyone else have a fear of being ill? I am terrified of having any kind of illness or feeling sick Also about having things like cancer.
I feel a bit weird because I don't know anyone else like this. I can handle having a cold but that's about it

Do you know anyone that has a similar fear? Or does anyone have any tips for ignoring it?

I get travel sick on buses which is a nightmare because then I panic and need to get off
Any advice would be welcome!!! i hope you don't think i'm too odd!

Hi Brandi

I dont know if you read my post a few days ago about suffering from anxiety and panic attacks, well feeling sick also brings them on for me cos i have a phobia about vomiting.

I tend to try nd stay as relaxed as poss and take deep breaths when the panic waves through my body.

I also carry rescue remedy around with me and drink plenty of acmomile and peppermint tea.

Also the doc suggested having some Pepto-bismol medicine in the house as it coats your stomach and takes away the nausea.

Hope that helps hun xx

I think this a common fear.. try ginger for the travel sickness, either a little fresh ( grate it, squeeze out the juice then add hot water and little sugar) or Rocks/Belvoir organic cordial from the health food shop.

don't feel silly xxx We all have our good days and bad days. Having suffered from severe depression, some years ago, I understand how emotions can wreck your life and totally mess you up. Don't worry, I hope you feel better xxxxx

All fears are real, so there's no need to feel embarrassed about it. I don't know a lot about phobia but I have heard of emetophobia which is a phobia about vomiting. There are several support groups ad information pages about this if you google for it. They might well have some info about your types of fears.
