Before progressing to morphine and diamorphine along with a boat load of other strong painkillers (which aren't for everyone) I used the pain patches you're asking about.

You are right in that many are infused with morphine or it's derivatives and there is really very little choice for people who can't tolerate/take these medications/drugs.

You maybe able to get what I used to have -that is, the Lignocaine Patches. They work in the same way as buying a tube of it OTC and rubbing it into the affected area. The only difference is that you don't have to keep doing it.

Once you've put one on, it takes about 25/30 minutes to work. It's better though than the usual pain relief you can get. It acts as a local anaesthetic too so the area you use it on will also be less sensitive to external sensations.

If you can have Lignocaine but cannot get the patches in Israel, it may be worth buying a tube of it OTC and buying separate Melolin self adhesive dressings. You can effectively make your own patches this way or use the Lignocaine then put a dressing over it to prevent clothing etc from rubbing it off before it has chance to work.
