is Sash eating too fast? If so you can put a hard rubber ball in her bowl so that she has to work around it and it is supposed to slow her down when she is eating.

What about adding hot water to make it wet? (let it cool down) I used to have to do this for my two as pups

Funny you should say that, Cassie was doing the same with that Burns food and Georgie, but they have been used to the big kibbles (Wafcol) whereas Burns are very small aren't they. Cass is now on a different veterinary food, but again it is very small like the Burns food and again she is choking, quite badly tonight too. I will be putting a big stone in the dish too now! Have you recently changed over to Burns and was Sash's old food larger kibble? I think that may be the problem, because at first Georgie didn't know how to eat this Burns food, so only ate half of it, but now he's got the hang of it and crunches every bit, whereas Cassie swallows it whole and there's a problem.

Jenny, can u spread her food out?? on the lawn or on the floor?

So she needs to search for it? That could slow things down

Or a sodabottle, where she will have to work to get the kibble out...

Well I've just pinched a tip, thanks guys. Pippin inhales his food too, and when he has a dentastik, he only bites it in half, then swallows it, then chokes it back up again, then does the same thing again!! I'll definately try putting something in his bowl.

Jenny I agree with the others too, make her work a bit to get the food that way she won't inhale it

Archie used to do this too, but eventualy he learned to chew his kibble so maybe it's just a case of learning from their mistakes, and getting used to chewing the kibble...
