Making a panoramic picture

Just a way of making a panoramic photo using ordinary photos.

First of all you need to take 3 or 4 photos with about a third overlap on each. This is best done on a tripod to keep the shots level.

AS below

This covers about 90 ft from the nearest point of 9 ft

Then I used Adobe elements 11 Panoramic stitching to join all 3 together as seen in last photo. It comes under the sub heading photo merge

I could have done a bit more to pull the edge of the picture more forward but this is just for demo purposes.

You can do this with any camera be it a small compact or full DSLR camera.

Why?

So often a single shot does not take in the whole view or at a wedding all the guests lined up. This overcomes situations like this.

I did try beforehand with an earlier version of Elements but it was a manual joining up and light variation from shot to shot did not work out

All good, except I'm not going to pay for Adobe just to stitch some photos together. The latest version is niegh $100 and I just don't use photo editing software enough to make it worth it.

I went on an Adobe elements course last year and really enjoyed it, unfortunately not enough people showed up when the course restarted in January, so never really understood all the things I wanted to know.
