Wow jackie, this thread is so interesting..I didn't realise that the birds hatched individually like that, I assumed they all hatched at around the same time and that they were born with feathers. I half expected the one born last week to look like a little miniature of its parents already...I am going to be glued to this thread from now on

A couple of questions, apologies if you're already answered them previously...when do the babies get their feathers, open their eyes etc? And do their parents stay in with them all the time, do they both feed the babies or is it just mum? xxx

Thank you Carole

Thank you Scorpio
i do not mind the questions as i feel very priveleged to be able to breed parrots and love to share them with others as i think alot of people would never ever get to see it from the start

the babies open their eyes around 3-4 weeks and start to get feathers around 5-6 weeks, although these are only pin feathers (the start of them) they take quite a few weeks to come through

Mum stays with them all the time, dad eats the food, then feeds mum and then they both feed the babies

and please feel free to ask any questions you have
i will try to answer them

Aww... I just love those wee babies... Gorgeous parents, too..

I doubt I'd ever be able to afford a Macaw, but my smaller birds keeps be amused...
