Things you dislike about owning dogs.

Everyone here knows the joys of owning dogs but there anything you dont like, Mine would be the fact you can grow as close to them as any person but they grow old before your eyes and the years fly by

Thats prob the same here, the fact that your likely to outlive a few dogs. Other thing would be other peoples ignorance toward em too.

Mine would be having to be practical and not getting to own every dog I want, all types and breeds. I wouldn't have room and it would be chaos!

But nice

That we don't have them for longer, I agree

and on a lighter note:

pickin up their poop and having to walk around with a bag of it swinging around until you find a bin.

Also when people over react to them when we are out.

My main one would be the short life span, I dread the time that she will have to leave us...

Another would be picking up dog poo!
Lets face it, no dog owners enjoy it, but it has to be done... I wish it was just done by more owners!!!

Another thing I dont like is not being able to take her everywhere with me, I wish that shops wernt so fussy about having dogs in, but I do understand why they are, with some dogs not having complete control of thier bowels etc...

The last thing I dont like is not being able to understand her all the time, I feel so terrible when she wants something and I dont know what.

Not having a big enough house so i can't have at least another five or six!!!!!
and yes the fact they have such short life spans.

other people not "getting it" when i talk about my dogs as if they were my children.

I dislike having to go out on the cold wet winter mornings with them. When I had a horse to do it was different, but now there's no urgency to go out sooooo early and when it's cold and wet, but I wish somebody would tell my dogs that!!!

I don't like it when they're ill, coz I worry myself to death and end up making myself ill sometimes with all the stress.

I don't like the state they both get into in all this mud either, coz it's really hard work with their long thick fur, especially as one is white!

Like the others, I hate the fact it's so painful to say goodbye to them, far too short a time we have with them.
