I dont have a problem with it as long as the dog is a breed or type that is suited to living outdoors and the accommodation is suitable, needs are met and it still can socialise with owners etc.

I do have a problem with shoddy, draughty, leaky shelters with restricted water/food/socialisation.

As with most things its about how its done, I suppose.

I don't agree with the chain idea really, but maybe there is a reason she is not behind a fence and allowed to run the yard. (jumps the fence) I don't think that having your dog live outside is a bad thing as long as they are allowed to interact with the family and be a part of the family.
Some dogs actually prefer to be outside and are really not happy unless they are actually out there.
I think that as long as your dog is happy, it doesn't really matter where they live as long as they are taken care of.

You DON'T KNOW how big the biggest crate is yet you are prepared to make a judgement on it.
