can you expad upon this as it is contrary to a couple of people that attended last year.

did you hear talk of "psychological connection"?
if so, what did he mean when he used the phrase?

many thanks

When the practicals were taking place, he actively encouraged the owners of the aggressive dogs to talk to their dogs.

The psychological connection = relationship owner has with dog (if any)

When a group of us trained with him and his policeman friend Andy in Protection work, he also encouraged us to talk to our dogs.

the feedback i referred to before was geert telling audience members they should not say stuff like 'good dog' for a recall after/during rewarding with a treat. he positively disagreed with people in the audience whom questioned this. that is where i saw the disconnect with the idea of psychological connection, which to my mind, relies on verbalisation. hence my wishing to findng out more regarding geert's particular take on that phrase, as i know he used it in previous workshops, but my friends couldnt explain it in any greater detail.

did he use this phrase when you saw him? is it a specific header and section of his workshop? did he expand upon this notion, and can you tell us?

Why not attend his next seminar yourself and then you can ask him personally?

you already asked me that question one or two posts back on this thread, to which I already answered (post 4)

so now you have been to the seminar, chosen to reactivate your old thread, and referred to my previous points in doing so, i figured you were making yourself available to re-engage me in my questions and thoughts?

like i said, i already answered that question in post number 4.

whats the problem?
if you didnt want to share your learning, why did you bring it up on a discussion thread, and refer to my previous enquiry when doing so?

I share my learning all the time.

I also post the dates, venues, costs and details of courses for the benefit of others.

You just want an argument, have it with somebody else.

Odd thing to say. It is clear for anyone to see that my posts have been worded in the style of a polite discussion, hence the "many thanks" and several question marks.

Because you had initiated the discussion yourself, including by referring to my earlier points, naturally i took it you were happy for me to carry on?

Like i said, i had based my thoughts previously after conversations with other people that had been to the same seminar as yourself.
And I dont have the time and money to go myself, sadly.
If I had your means, of course I would go, especially as i live next door.

Therefore, i find other ways to learn things and form ideas. What is wrong with that?

Personally, I would gladly post up what i learnt from a seminar, even for someone whom had some doubts and questions over any aspects.
Why would someone not want to do this?
