Brown nose

Stars nose has gone a bit brown over the winter. Has anyone any ideas as to how to get it back to being black

Someone has suggested rubbing vitamin E on it

I'm sure I've heard about this :smt017 I think it does happen to some dogs during the winter months, and will more than likely go back to black during the summer months :smt048

Some people believe it is also food related, and in my Old Goldies case, it just got paler with age :smt002

If it was food related, what would be missing in the diet. Star is fed Burns and Nature Diet

Oooh, that's much too difficult for me ops: I did see it mentioned on another board, but it was some time ago.

If I can find it I'll post back

This is what I've been able to find out so far.

It appears to be a condition called 'Snow Nose' or 'Winter Nose', and the suggested supplements include Pigment Plus available from

www.animal-health.co.uk

Kelp and seaweed (same thing innit?? ) were also reccommended.

Dorwest Herbs also do products, but can't find their addy at the mo

Yep it is called 'Winter Nose' and I have always believed it will go back to the correct colour in the Summer, still if you want to try supplements kelp and seaweed will do not harm to anything but your pocket
