Norman's Honking

Has anyone else got a honking dog? Occasionally Norm has horrendous 'attacks', especially when he gets over excited. It's as if he can't draw breath and he honks and sort of sounds like someone's choking him. I've had him checked at the vets and he says he's fine and it's nothing to worry about but I'm sure it distresses him. I normally pat him on the back and rub his neck til it subsides. Does anyone else have any experience of this or is Norm not normal?

Azz,

You should be ashamed of yourself. Laughing at Norm's misfortune.

The first time it happened I drove to the vets at breakneck pace and burst in the doors with an extremely happy dog with perfectly normal breathing. I'm sure he does it on purpose

Hi Joe, lets get graphic, what sort of honking does your lad do? Is there lots of heaving and then it arrives, or does it sort of just happen? And does he do it after he has eaten or when he is hungry? And now for the worse question - what is in it?

Thordell,

I think the local term honking has a different meaning You obviously mean throwing up one's insides...... I mean honking - like a horn as in honk, honk, hoooooonk. That sort of honking.
