Help High Grade Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Hi, I need some advice from anyone who may have gone through this. My mixed breed dog Mashka, 8 years old suddenly was found with a mammary gland tumour. She was operated and the biopsy was -High Grade Squamous Cell Carcinoma.
After the op her X ray of the lung shows a few patches which may be the carcinoma, but we re waiting for the result of the blood report.
Anyone who can tell me what the prognosis is in this case?
Looking on other sites I can see that in cases of lung cancer, chemo does not help.
I have to keep in mind that the chemo requires a one and half hour drive and Mashka hates car drives and is a gentle, shy dog. Not happy with new situations.
Right now she s fine, eating and playing.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks.

No advice sorry. I did have a dog with T.Cell Lymphoma. Not the same diagnosis as your dog but wish you well and maybe somebody will be along with some advice later.
We were told chemo would prolong his life but not cure the disease.

Thanks for your good wishes.
Did you opt for the chemo then?
And what were the effects of it?

No we didn't opt for the chemo for Max it would of meant a monthly trip to a Vet a couple of hours drive away he was a young dog so needed to go to a specialist for the chemo (that wasn't the problem) it was the thought of a cocktail of 9 different drugs once a month for the possibility of a year more of life if we were lucky.
We opted for pallative steroids and he had 8 relative good weeks of life with us and left us with some dignity.Although towards the end he was ill and we knew it was time to let him go.
That was just over 5 yrs ago so things may of changed again for the better since then.

Unfortunately the blood test is positive for cancer. We ve started Mashka on steroids and are hoping for the best. She s the brown one with the dreamy eyes. Mostly closed as she loves to sleep.
The white one is Frisby, the pomeranian, er she s white and has fur so we call her a Pom.
