Hi Ian,

Thanks for all that information, I am definitely going to give the MSM a try because he is on steroids every few weeks and I know that they are not good for him but the vet can't seem to recommend anything else at the moment. I have been advised to bath him in Quistel shampoo as well, have you ever tried this?

I am wondering if pollen is what our dog is allergic to because he has definitely started scratching more this last week or so all over his body. He usually just scratches his ears and makes sores on the outside of them but this week he has been nibbling his feet and scratching all over his body. I frontlined him last week, but I don't really think it is fleas that are the problem with him.

Have you any photos of your American Bulldog. One of my partners friends owns an American Bulldog and he is beautiful, although I haven't seen him since he was a puppy. He is called Oscar and is really cute.

Hi Mo,

Yes thanks for that information, it does sound like a really good idea although I don't know any local bee keepers. I feel so sorry for him when he keeps scratching but I am determined to find something to help him one day

OK
i had a quick look about and come up with these
they all seem to be cheaper than the price you are paying now and offer free delivery in the UK
some of them are tablet form but you could always crush them up with a tablet crusher or one of those herb crushing thingys

some of the pages you have to scroll down a good way but they are there
some good offers as well

Hi Foxy,
Heres Bandit my American Bulldog. He is 3 years old, stands 25inches and weighs 115lbs..

Regards the Quistel shampoo i did try that and he still scratched [but i use it on my other dog when she has to be rarely bathed].The shampoos that work for him are Paxcutol which contains Benzoyl Peroxide or Etiderm both made by Virbac.I would consult your vet first about using them but if he says it is ok then they are cheaper to buy from www.hyperdrug.com ...Cheers...Ian..

Hi Ian,

Oooh he is so beautiful and such a big dog, I wouldn't like to try to get him in the bath You don't really see that many of them do you, are they quite rare? I bet you don't get any intruders with him around. :smt103 :smt103 :smt103

Have you posted these pictures in the pictures part of the forum because I bet everyone would love to see him hes gorgeous

Hi Foxy,
Before i got him i had researched the breed for near on 2 years attending shows etc to make sure it was what i was looking for. They were not that common then but seem to be getting more popular now. They are a fantastic dog but have to be shown a firm hand from an early age. The power they have is amazing and regards guarding ability it just comes as second nature. He certainly keeps any potential intruders away. I have posted his photos a while back in the photo section and got a lot of really kind remarks so when i take some new ones i will get them posted. Getting him in the bath is so easy,he will do anything for a piece of liver cake lol....Cheers...Ian..
