Portion size

I never know how much food to cook for the right amount of people ....
Today its green beans for 3 people ,how the hell do you judge how much to cook ..lol

I tend to go with how much people would eat....

For me it tends to be a small handful, OH has a bigger handful, the average person would get an in between one.... Always used this method for pasta and never had any complaints with regards to too little or too much! :P

I always imagine how it would look on the plate. For instance, if you're having meat and two different veg, then divide the plate into three and apportion accordingly.

It's easy now that I'm old (ha!) but it's something I really struggled with for years. I wasted so much because I was always worried there wouldn't be enough.

I ended up cooking the lot i had ,and then leaving them in a dish so people could help themselves ..lol
