Spring won the veterans class!

Hi,
We entered Spring into the veterans class (agility) at Waldridge Fell this weekend just to have a blast round enjoying herself. She's not been to a show or training for a while and I didn't get chance to take her down to the rings until after lunch (had had walks etc. in the exercise area). Blimey! She went mad! we sat and watched a bit of a novice class and she barked and bounced every time a dog set off - and when she saw another kelpie go howled the whole way round and managed to rip my raincoat trying to get into the ring! After that I took her back to the car to chill out . Veterans was the last class of the day - it was an easy course but had a pull off the weaves (never her strong point). Took her lead off told her to stay, she waited perfectly 'til I called her, pulled off the weaves no problem and was incredibly responsive and in short perfect! She won the class by 4 seconds with the fastest time overall (20-04). It was a qualifier so she's now qualified for the veteran finals in June! She enjoyed it so much and I really enjoyed running her so we've put her in either a veteran class or a novice at shows in the future just so we can have a blast and watch out ziggie if Spring's waits are like that there's chance for yours yet lad
H xx

Oh, well done Spring

Sounds as thought she really enjoyed herself. Hope you can keep her going for as long as she is up for it and having a good time.

We, ummm... mature ladies can show the youngsters a thing or too sometimes

Wow, well done Spring. She sounds like she had a blast doing that, and I love the bit about ripping your raincoat in her eagerness How old do they have to be (or young?)to enter the veterans class, and how old is she then? You must be sooooo proud of her, I know I would be

thanks guys the ages range between 7 and 10. For this one they had to be eight and she's eight nearly nine - though she seems alot older as she's had a lot of "wear and tear" over the years xx
