I did have "time-off" from Border Collies, once....

I've always liked dogs you could have a bit of a rough-and-tumble with, such as Chota (Perwinnes Prima Vera), one of the Cockers my Mum bred from her "Foundation Bitch" Sally (Airleywight Idle Dreams).

Sally arrived a while after the first Border Collie (Glen) died, after we had got over the "no more dogs" stage of loss, but before anyone got over the "No more Collies" bit.

We never knew what happened to Chota - whilst staying with my cousin in Aviemore, she took herself for an unauthorized walkie on the moors, and didn't come back

She looked a lovely girl Snorri, sad to read about her wandering off though. I expect you will always wonder, she looks a bright girl so I can only imagine she invited herself in somewhere

And this is the beautiful Chota again, all alert because someone has just come in the gate. Later in her life, she had just one puppy, a nervous wee girl called Chloe.
If ever I was to change breeds from Border Collies, it would be to Cockers. Delightful little dogs.

This pic is probably from around 1977.
