A cat near me obv. been abandoned. Help plz

In the street behind mine there has been a little black cat which has been abandoned.
It has been sat outside the house for 3 days.
I go past at 7 am and then again regular intervals throughout day up until 11pm and he is always sat there.
This moring i had a look at house and there is a stack of post on mat(its a glass door). There is only 1 door and no cat flap.
Who should i ring please? Council, RSPCA?

That doesn't sound good.

If you think the house is empty and the cat has been left, I suppose the RSPCA would be the first contact.

But are you sure the occupier has left -it could be something worse e.g. elderly person who has died.

In any event, i would start with the RSPCA and see what they suggest.

Good luck and well done for caring

Well normally the blinds are half open but now they are completly shut. I have seen a young family in the house in several occassions.
I'll give RSPCA a bell and see whats what.

your concerns were geniune and I think with the info you had, not unfounded, so even if it ends up that the cat hasn't been abandoned, I still think you did the right thing.

Let us know when you hear something
