Photos of Belgian Shepherd Breeds (Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois, Tervueren)

After the various discussions about malinois, I wanted to post some pics of the four different belgian shepherd breeds.

From left to right: Groenendael, Laekenois, Malinois, Tervueren

Eastenders fans with recognise the Tervueren as the breed of Wellard

All are pastoral (herding) breeds, but as far as I'm aware, only the mal is currently used in protection work.

Hope this is interesting

Interesting thread Becs, you can really tell them apart when you see them together like that, and i think it will give people a better idea of the various Belgian breeds, i have never seen a Laekenois before

The Tervueren is a noisy dog... Just like a gsd can be...

We have one in our class at training. Jackie is very hyper and whines and barks all through class...

She's a sweetie, but boy it is a bit annoying..

My fave is the Groenendael they are one of the breeds I would like one day, amongst many others!

It's quite something how you can see the body shape is exactly the same in all of them but the coats are so different, probably one of the only breeds to be like this arn't they??

My hand is up!! lol (course J and me live in Europe, where they're all known by those names )

They are not bad dogs, actually if its not a Mal its quite sane.

J, you just about rightly described Tam at training

I know all the names but can't say I can pronounce them 100% correctly all of the time!

Thanks Becs, I have seen the last one Tevuerens, as they are quite common here aren't they, but none of the others. I must say I don't much care for the first one or the 2nd (oops! sorry if anybody has one!) and I think the third looks very g.s.d doesn't it as well as the Tevuerens resembling the long coat g.s.d. but of course smaller. Thanks for showing us these I was very interested.
