My poem is poem of the month

I don't know if any of you are aware of the 'Rusty', the greyhound story Rusty was a racing greyhound and when he could no longer race he was taken away, had his ears cut off to remove the id tattoo and shot in the head and was found still alive by a walker (just typing that sentance make me cry )

There was a memorial service recently and the story of Rusty is a very emotional one to me and although I could not be there in person I decided to write a poem dedicated to Rusty and it was read out at the memorial service and it is now poem of the month on the Greyhound Muses website. Click on the link below and go to poem of the month....have your tissues ready

Hi Stephanie, a lovely poem that you wrote, I'm sorry but didn't know the story of Rusty.

Did they ever get the person who did this to him - I sincerely hope so

Poor wee boy

That story is awful sorry I had never heard of it before.
I'm so glad they caught the sick monster and that animals will be safe from him in future (I hope)
The poem was beautiful, really heartfelt, well done.

Thank you everyone

When Im sad and emotional I find writing about it comes to me very easily, the words for Rutsy's poem came with ease but very very heartfelt....if that makes sense

I will have a rescue greyhound (or 2) one day
