its people like that that make staffies look vicious! People like him should not be allowed to own dogs! I would report him to police and maybe even RSPCA? And hope he gets a nice home

Thank you for all your kind comments and thoughts, Moki is fine now, had a bit of a sleepless night with her, as she keeps trying to pull the stitches out in her leg, i am just glad really she didnt have the sense in her to fight back, or it could have got very nasty, and out of hand really quickly. I must state though i never blamed the dog, i blamed the owner for being so selfish towards his own dog, and other peoples. Im also glad that Spike did not turn nasty, or theres no way i would have got him off, that would have been impossible.
I know where the man lives, and i will be phoning the dog warden later today, as this afternoon whilst washing my drive down, the dog was out again, but this time without anyone supervising Its a shame, as it dont look like a very old staffy, if i thought my dogs were going to be okay...i would take it in, but he/she is to dog aggressive, but obviously the dog needs to be taken proper care of, as it might not be so lucky as to pick a fight...its getting hurt on the road that is a big worry for me As here we are near to lots of main roads, and by judging what i saw today, the poor dog has no road sense at all

I'm glad to hear she is ok now... and must have been horrible experience for you too.

The only thing now that she may be scared of dogs in the future... have you reported this guy to the police?? (description of what he looks like and stuff).

Chester my AB was attacked by a Staff over the park a while back, all he wanted to do is play, but the Staff didn't it kept going for the throat and his undercarriage.

The whole time i was walking over to stop it, (trying to keep calm, as i was on my own and there was a park full of people) i was thinking for Chester to fight back... but he didn't. The boys just stood there frightented to grab there dog. (w**kers)

But i'm glad he didn't, as if he had he probably would done some serious damage with his jaws. I have been told that he is a late developer but as he gets older he will show who's boss.

And hopefully Moki will too as she developes.

Give her a big kiss from Chester

I can sympathise here. When Cassy was just a pup I was out walking her (without Kip my other Staff) and my neighbours dogs came running up behind and made a go for her. These were two large Bull & Terriers probably around 60lbs each and their pup who was at the time only 6 months also joining in.

He was too out his face to do very much but eventually we got them off and £600 and two surgeries later Cassy was fine (thank god I had insurance) physically at least. The guy got away with it as he pleaded with me not to call the law and promised this that and the next about where and how he would walk his dogs if only I didnt call the law (as I later found out he had done 5 times before) he continued to get away with it for months after Cassys attack as he never had them on a lead and they just went for anyting that moved and they were very capable and game dogs.

Eventually the youngest of his three (10 months at the time) nearly killed a young Yorkie dog and one was taken away but they left him with the two larger dogs, as far as I know the little one was destroyed but the two large dogs are still with him at the moment there is a court case and I hope that the dogs are taken away from him.

The police and the dog warden all did very little at all even though he could have been done under different laws for the dogs he kept (not that I am in favour of the DDA but in this case it could have proved useful). They seemed to take the view that they couldnt do anything because of this that and the next even though I know for a fact they were visiting his place most weeks at one stage!

The problem with bull & mastiff type breeds is that unfortunatley they attract scum like this as their muscular bodies often appeal to people of this nature its a shame but thats the way it is I am afraid, this guy sounds typical of the type and could have been from any street anywhere - I am sure we all recognise somebody like this. Well I hope your dog is okay and I really hope it doesnt affect her negativley around other dogs, apart from lots of TLC and gentle guidance theres not really much you can do. I would go down the police route but only if you think it worthwhile and will get you somewhere- make sure to keep all vet bills and notes etc as they will come in handy and if you have any witnesses even better!

Good Luck
Laura

Like others said, report this idiot to the dog warden AND the police. People like him give genuine bull breed owners a bad name. Hope Moki is feeling better.

We often get idiots like this - they think that because we have "hard" breeds that they must be up for it. It's such a shame when you try your best to socialise your dogs and some idiot comes along and takes it all away in one go.
