"Just Ignore Him!"

Following on from Lotties thread, here's another saying here regularly which really ticks me off!

Took Isla out today for some "socialising". She's had a few bad attacks from varied dog breeds lately, so I tend to use this walk as a way of meeting nice dogs and restore her confidence. Not today.

After a half decent walk (she only got chased and grabbed by the neck be a Lurcher and chased and grumbled at by a GSD cross) we came across a couple with a black terrier cross and as Border Terrier. Although that description is being very kind, hair piece on legs sprung to mind tbh!

Anyway this little balck terrier was doing the whole zoomie thing and Isla saw this as a great oppotunity to join in. So off she went flying about with this little dog, great I though, she's finally starting to enjoy other dog's company again. Wrong! Unfortuantely she flew past the rugonlegs and it went for her, bigtime. Of course being the coward she is she fled (suppose I have to be thankful for small mercies?!) and the owners were practically laughing their arses off!!!!!! "Oh just ignore him!" they said, "He's just a Border Terrier who hates Springers!"

Oh ha ****ing ha, how bloody hilarious!

I then tried to explain that I was trying to give her good experiences to build up her confidence, but they were laughing so hard they couldn't hear me. I really do wonder if they'd be laughing as hard if my Springer had hated their Rugrat as much! Doubtful.

Why oh why oh why can't these ****wits put their dogs on a lead and stop ruining everyone elses day.

Nuff said.

Don't let it get you down. Unfortuanately there are those who think that small dogs terrorising bigger dogs is very amusing. Not so funny when bigger dog retaliates though is it? I'm sure you will meet some nice dogs without t*ts for owners one day. Chin up!

Thanks, lets just say I'll be avoiding that walk for a little while!

With you on that. Star has been attacked/snapped at few times by smaller dog, he also hates the vets so when he was younger we thought kill two birds with one stone, take him to the vets to buy him a treat(good expeirience) and he will also see a few dogs, while close still a bit away, the vets surgery and shop area are a little apart. All going well till a man and woman have their little yapper on an extender unlocked, it runs yapping and snapping at star and put him back months.

I hope Isla is none the worst for wear.

Idiots seem to be taking over the planet don't they?!

Isla's fine, it just breaks my heart really. I used to love seeing her running around with different dogs with a big "smile" on her face. Now she just looks terrified everytime another dog approaches.

We have a nutty woman with a Jack Russell around here. Never has the dog on a lead along roads and allows it to bomb up to other dogs (usually across the road) while it tries to attack. Her attempt at regaining control involves laughing and ignoring it. If the shoe was on the other foot and I allowed my dog to behave in such a way, being much larger, I dare say the police would be involved. But because it is a Jack Russell? oh, it is harmless.

that's the kind of behaviour from other russell owners that really gets on my wick. Gives us all a bad name. Those types shouldn't be allowed to own any dog!

I'm sorry for Isla that she hasn't found some dogs she can have happy experiences with. It is upsetting. It took me 16 months or so to get Missy straightened out again after she was attacked by a numpty's dog.
Perhaps there ought to be breeding restrictions on humans!

What jerks!

We bumped into a morbidly obese chocolate lab the other day, with it's morbidly obese owner who was walking on and not even watching him.

Whilst not aggressive Mr Fatso came bounding up at me, my husband and little Woody who was so frightened he was yelping in fear. The dog was working his round round all of us and was so strong he nearly knocked my husband over, let alone me and Woody.

I yelled out that she perhaps ought to call her dog back but she carried on walking. We had to walk up to her to get him back and all she did was laugh and say "oh Rosco, get down" with no meaning at all, despite the fact that Woody was reared back and yelping/whimpering in fear.

Stupid *****. I was so angry.

Since then he is petrified of bigger dogs bounding up to him although slowly but surely getting better.

If I ever see her again, well, let's just say I wont be quite so reserved next time!
