For a black dog, Satch's fine in the heat - he plays for a bit then goes and lies down in the shade and just sleeps.

Bulldogs don't understand the concept of shade - given the chance, Soph would be outside sunbathing in the full sun. So she has to be kept indoors, with all the windows open. When she's particularly hot, I put a cold wet towel over her.

Both of them get ice cubes in their water and frozen kongs.

well indie is under the bed at the mo, and phoenix is sitting panting.
I put icecubes in their water, and have a fan on all day with all the windows open. I dont let them go outside too much as its far too hot outside. Even i can barely cope outside! its about 31 degrees today!

Yesterday we spent most of the day outside with Archie

I'm not sure if I should be keeping him inside but it's a lot hotter in here than outside, and at least out there he has his little tub of water....

If it is really hot I like to put ice cubes in the water bowl,
Also like Becs I use a cold towel ....ring a cloth out in iced water and place it on the dogs back. You can also place a towel a wet in a plastic bag in the deep freeze for about half an hour just to let it get really cold and alternate them .

well ours have a paddling pool, big bowls of water with ice cubes in, the sprinklers on, erm what else, oh yes, we have an old freezer, in the shed, working, and we fill a bucket of water, and put it in there, then when it all frozen, pry it from the bucket, and one huge ice cube, we put some rope in the centre, whilst it is freezing, so the dogs can drag it around the garden,
hope this helps
