Allergies

I moved in with OH not so long ago and he
Is having some sort of allergic reaction in the bedroom, he sneezes and gets all bunged up whenever he goes to bed, this also happened when he stayed at mine previously.

I have changed the bedding and replaced duvets and pillows and he is still suffering. The only thing that has not been replaced is the mattress which I love and is a very expensive
Memory foam so I don't really want to have to change it unless a last resort.

Anyone any ideas of what to do? (he can't take allergy pills on a daily basis).

I don't think it's mould... Surely I would see that?? Dust mites... That's what we thought in my last house as it was so old and generated a lot of dust but in this house I have been dusting and hoovering daily but it hasn't helped... Not sure I can do anything about the mattress though?

You can vacuum the matress see if it helps? My friend has a dust mite allergy and she hoovers everything including her sofa and matress constantly.

You can get anti-allergy room/furniture sprays which we buy every now and then to do the bed, sofa and carpet. They seem to make a difference. My OH is allergic to all things - you have my sympathy!

Could it be something as simple as whatever you use to wash your bedding in? Something he didn't previously use, maybe? I remember a friend having problems when she changed her washing powder to a new brand. When she changed back, it stopped happening.

I am sensitive to a lot of washing powders/tablets. I can't use many own brand ones as it brings me up in a rash.

Out of interest, is your bedroom carpeted?

My hubby becomes "allergic" dust or something in carpets as it sets him off even if there are no animals (we originally thought he was allergic to dog/cat hair, but he's fine in our laminated/tiled floored house).
