Fortunately no, and if I did, I would ignore them.

But you have no idea to what they object, they obviously do not have a problem eating the meat, so could it be the cleaning fluid they object to for example?

Or possibly the fact that the animals have their throats cut and bleed to death with no anaesthetic?

Up until very recently this was not the case with some of the big supermarket chains. There was an investigation into it and it was discovered that 'ordinary' meat was in fact Halal meat - but there was no label saying so.

A lot of people protested over this as they said they had a right to know if anything they were eating had been blessed in the name of a religion - Islam, in this case.

Now I don't think it happens any more.

Strange how they do not mind EATING these animals though isn't it, (if they were so sensitive)!

How do you explain that? Why do they not object to the meat in their bowl but APPARENTLY the meat in the shop?

Just to say that if Halal is the same as Kosher in this respect then the animal does NOT 'bleed to death'.

The animal is dead with the first and only cut to the throat.

Muslims will only eat halal meat - so presumably they do not mind the fact that the animals have died a slow painful death.

I am not naive enough not to realise that I have probably eaten kilos of meat that was bled before being stunned. I know exactly what happens in an abbatoir, and I would be very happy to pay more for my meat so that animals did not have to suffer. But I will not purposely buy halal meat, in fact just the opposite.
