Wow really good pictures. I too have about 17 blackbirds that seem to come back every year (well they seem to be there all year) and I catch the fledglings pestering their mother for food. It's a real joy to watch.

I let the dog out a bit quick the other morning and disturbed a starling and her fledgling - you should have heard the commotion and screaming - I felt so guilty as mum and baby became separated, only for a short while. As soon as the dog had come back in again they were reunited.

This little one was needing some encouragement but seemed more than happy just doing the 'Basil Fawlty' up and down the branch.

their singing in spring, when they are looking for their Lady bird is gold in my ears
and sometimes sounds funny too, when they try to give all

I have to say blackbirds are my favourite because I have such a large flock of them. They're very territorial though - often chase one another off.
