Woman Charged After Duct-Taping Dog's Muzzle

A woman who sparked outrage on social media after posting a picture of her chocolate labrador with its muzzle taped shut has been charged with cruelty to animals.

Katharine Lemansky, from Cary, North Carolina, posted the photo on her [a social network] page on Friday, alongside a caption which read: "This is what happens when you don't shut up!!!"

Shocking!! I bet this is more widespread than we think too - all those barking dogs with owners unable to train them properly :/

You are right Azz, there's so much we don't hear about. It's horrible, I can't bear to even think about it.

Just imagine if that dog had been ill and vomited
..possible inhalation of fluid on the lungs with dreadful consequences ...

I must admit this picture was share to me via FB,
I looked at the womans FB page saw she had listed her home town and shared her photo to local animal control officers there..
I hope it helped contribute to her being charged,
Its not just about what she did its about stopping other idiots following her example.

Are we sure it wasn't a joke? What if it was a kid. I've heard parents joke about taping the month shut. The way social media is someone will do it and post it a pic even though it was staged. I can just imagine some people taking it serious and reporting them.

Though Meg makes a very good point. It could be dangerous.

I hate barking dogs as much as the next person and had a GSD named Derrick that barked uncontrollably for what appeared to be no reason, but I never thought to do this. He was however quickly UN-fostered and it was easy to see why he was unable to find a home. My goodness!
