The dubious looking firework shops are out in force - haven't heard many bangs yet and by pure coincidence, we're away the 5th November so the dogs are in kennels in the middle of nowhere, so it's likely to be minimal for them as well this year.

Neither of them, nor the cat seem particularly bothered by them though - had a big organised display end of the summer quite near and no ears were lifted up.

I always feel sorry for dogs (and other animals) at this time of year. Thankfully we are so far out from anywhere we never hear any at all.

We don't hear them up here, more likely to hear shotguns and chinooks!

My sister did comment last week that they had been going off in her area.

Funnily enough I was thinking that last week. We've had a severe lack of the usual ton of bonfires the local brats set around here this year. Normally I've seen the fire engine at least 3 times by now.

This year...zero (so far)....

Not heard one here yet, which is unusual for this area. I do stay well away from the local parks after 4pm tho'.......that's where the kids seem to be this time of year.

Round here has been quieter for the last couple of years and I can only think it is a money issue.

The fewer the better as far as I'm concerned

Luckily the only fireworks we have here are those set off at Wedding Halls following a marriage ceremony, and as there is such a Hall sort of connected to this Moshav we do hear them. Not loud and not for long though.

Sometimes we hear them from Wedding Halls in town, but that depends on which way the wind is blowing, and it is only for a matter of minutes.

Little One used to hate fireworks, thunder, boom booms etc and would crawl onto the bottom shelf of the bookcase beside this table and hide behind the books, but luckily Pereg does not seem over-bothered.

She does initially jump if the air-raid sirens go off, but that is as far as it goes with her. Luckily those have been quiet lately.
