Easier, I would have thought, to pick up than carry a shovel to dig a deep enough hole, but each to their own

LOL !! As unpleasant as dog poo is, I do dislike intensely all this hysteria about dog poo. The statistics record about 5 cases a year of childrens' eyes being affected by toxicara - not all being blinded even, infected. That is dreadful of course and 5 too many, but that said the hysterical anti-dog brigade would have us believe that there are hundreds if not thousands of cases. What about cat poo? Not all cats bury their poo completely, and in the case of diarrhoea they can leave behind a considerable amount unburied. A level head is needed as always and I am pleased that there are fines now for not picking up, but if someone tried to fine me for burying dog poo over a foot deep on a beach in winter I would not be pleased!!

I prefer to use a lead as it stops Rex from running into the road
