Inca, for Cavaliers, have you tried single blade thinning scissors?? They give a much better and more natural finish!! :smt023

Argos do clippers they are about £25 I have two pairs which i use to clip my horses legs and face. They are made by Wahl and you can send the blade back to them for sharpening for about £5.

Hold tight before you clip her!! A well groomed coat will insulate against the heat in the same way that it will insulate against the cold!! Smooth coated dogs, boxers, dobes etc also struggle in the heat. Clipping won't help.
Use thinners by all means but if you clip her, it'll not grow back the same!!
Give her a tummy strip, leaving a fringe down both sides so that you can't see that she has a bald bit inbetween. Then she can find a bit of cold floor, inside or outside and feel the cold on her tummy!
