Awwww, thanks everyone, I'm still keeping on top of it all. He still hasn't switched his blooming phone on, but that's understandable as time is getting on now.

Just spoken to his osteopath and she says that spinal tap will rule out brain infections, but the scan was imperative for the bleed, so you were right Azz.

Just sorting out the garage stuff now and when I've fed the dogs I'm off over there, but they're more than capable of running it without him, and if they had me there, they'd probably all walk out (I told him that too!!!), so best to leave well alone there, so that Dave still has a business when he gets out of hospital.

Dogs have been walked, Zena is 100% sound and yet I forgot to give her the Rimadyl tablets last night in my panic with Dave when I came back to feed them, so that's kind of a good thing I suppose. I've spoken to the vet to tell her all about things coz I didn't want her to think I had just not bothered to take Zena back to see her, I like to tie things up neatly being a Virgo!

So Helen's back in full working mode, I shall get on with what I have to do, and not worry about Dave until 3pm when I go and see him with my little list of things he has to tell me for his work. It's all very well being indespensible but when things fall apart at the top, it causes problems for those left in charge which is what's happened here, coz Dave isn't the best organised of peops (unlike moi) and he's a very private person (again, unlike moi!) and everything's in his head instead of down on paper and filed away neatly, but then, maybe that's what's caused this problem in the first place! Better to get it all out I say

Thanks again all, I'll report back as soon as I have news, and let's hope it's as good as the news about Zena hey?! That'd be nice! xxxxxxxx

Thanks Helena for updating us about Dave, as I know you must have a million things going on at the moment. Just make sure you take good care of yourself. Will be thinking of you and praying that everything will be ok for Dave.

Thanks Heather, just fed the doglets, got me priorities right there!

Just heard from a very poorly Dave He said he's waiting for the spinal tap now, and they have told him it will give him a MEGA headache and he said it's the last time he's ever going into hospital (that's man talk though!!!), and apparently he's going to have to lie on his back afterwards for 3 hours, so I told him I won't go until he can sit up because I need him to sign some cheques! Priorities and all that lol!

He'll be fine, but are these things dangerous, something elser for me to worry about now then??? Better Google all that when I come back from the garage!

Thanks guys. Poor Dave, all that pain.....

Hi H, I'm still here awaiting news!
You sound remarkably together all things considered. So much for you to cope with and think of.
I hope Dave and Zena bring good news today. Hugs to you all.

I've only just caught this thread H, I hope Dave makes a speedy recovery and it turns out to be nothing major but have to say even in the face of adversity your posts never cease to make me chuckle, you mad woman. x

Helena, if the lumbar puncture is done s l o w l y and Dave lies flat as he is told, he should not get a really mega mega headache. I think they only say that as a warning, but having had more than a few I can assure you that the only time I would have willingly put my head on a block to have it chopped of was when my spinal fluid was allowed to flow too fast.

[some idiot doctor was, I am sure, using me as a guinea pig for his first attempt - grr]

Thanks for the update H - don't know about dangerous but if it was me I would stay away from Googling it, I did that once and nearly gave myself a heart attack

He's in the best place, the doctors and nurses have certainly dealt with this before, many times most likely, and you've enough to worry about, but I must admit that's just me talking, not trying to tell you what to do in any way.

I remember my old mum saying bleeds on the brain, you can be gone in seconds usually, so we're both very lucky aren't we.
I keep telling myself that. Apparently my dad kept stopping breathing while waiting for the ambulance and my cousin kept hitting him and telling him he was NOT dying on her shift My dad developed complications after having surgery to fix the bleed and had another op on Monday to put in a shunt to keep fluid draining. Went to see him on Tuesday and he'd gone from lying in bed pretty much unresponsive to being my dad again

Googling made me even more confused about the whole thing to be honest, there's so much info out there and so many maybes that I gave up.

Fingers still crossed for you and Dave.
