More children are harmed by their parents or other adults each year so perhaps before dogs are banned humans should be banned

how sad! let's ban mothers and cars too, they kill more children than dogs. Or hey, why not grow out of children? There are plenty of us on the planet, and we can probably grow enough to adulthood in jars so that there won't be any dog-wielding teenagers either!! bonus

Such an irrational, illogical article is sady no longer a surprise at the Times.
With sister publications of The Sun and the News of the World, it shouldn't be a shock some of their columnists are really gutter snipes too.

....yet he has the nerve to deride "red top" papers in the article...... I'm actually not sure why the numpty is employed in this capacity - he should have stuck to being a food critic......

I loved this comment:

You poor man, if you cannot see past the failings of the people who own the problem dogs and see extermination as the only solution take some time out and consider your own vulnerable position in the greater world outside your little middle class street.

Brilliant.....

yes, of course, because he's sitting up and begging for a reaction - the more he gets the more "popular" his column is, the more likely he is to keep a job.
and doesn't matter if the reactions are negative - with "paper talk" there's no such thing as bad publicity.
