Good morning everyone

Hope you enjoyed your catch up Lynn and that Dillon is improving.

Chris hope you are not so achy today.

Dull here at the moment but warm. Going to my sister's later for lunch. Ben will look after Teazle. Have got meals ready for both of them so Ben only has to put his in the microwave

Hope all ar well. Take care.

Brenda, have copied what you wrote yesterdays thread to answer so all in one place, hope you don't mind, you asked me What do you mean by change of energy Kazz. This intrigues me. From my own thoughts I think the owner just needed to be shown how to do things when her dog reacts to some dogs and situations. He is a rescue with an unknown past. He hasn't known me long but then I am not worried by any behaviour problems not as a rule. bg!! I found that my reactions are just as fast when he decided to sound off at another couple of dogs. Mind you they started it first. I just found her crappy lead that she uses is not kind to the hands. So I have ordered her another one.

I mean peoples energy/aura/behaviour whatever you call it causes a dog to behave in certain ways.

Some people exude confidence and that can be through their personality/born/with it or learnt/trained behaviour i.e. taught how a dog behaves/thinks/reacts.

I have always thought a dog interacts with you so you are jumpy crying your dog behaves differently to when you are sitting watching tv or reading. They work I think by triggers/learnt behaviour; i.e. I get a phone call and start talking Gert whatever we are doing/going to do knows I am mostly going to be a while and you hear her sigh and go to get comfy sofa; her bed etc.

Whereas putting on my sketchers or walking shoes on means likely a walk for her but no point her getting to involved (she seems to think) until I either get her water bottle or poo bags then its worth moving/involving herself.

I have found also that rescue dogs I have rehomed pretty much behave as I expect all my dogs too regardless of what background they came from straight off almost it seems to me,(although that could be looking back with rose coloured glasses)lol.

I have set rules no jumping up; no barking unnecessarily and if they do bark (not an issue) but stopping when I say so "I sometimes in early days prompt/remind" when local dogs bark I say "No need to join in" I find that's enough in time just to remind. "That's enough" is normally all that is needed.

My rules are pretty set in stone but life is pretty chilled here I suppose Stafford shaped home that needs a Stafford. My energy is laid back but no nonsense I think.

I am more than open to conversation about this in fact would welcome it I love chatting about dogs.

Kazz I was told by a good friend a long time ago when I taught people/dogs that I was more dog than human. I took it as a compliment. I blame my parents. lol!! I have now passed that gene onto my daughter's especially the one in America.

Morning all
Sue, enjoy your visit
Moyra...any results from DVLA yet??
Kazz, I agree, dogs do pick up on how tense etc you are and my 2 seem to have it in their heads that if I change my clothes and have a wee....it automatically means walkies, errrm no....it means I am off out for whatever reason and walkies when I return
Brenda, will your Friend be coming this afternoon? Hope if she does, you will get some nice weather.
Not feeling great today, had an awful headache since yesterday morning and it got worse yesterday afternoon...I thought it was stress from my horrible bus experience and the solicitor bit it's worse today. I am seeing my consultant tomorrow so will say something then if needed
