My friend is doing my allotment this year as Im so tied up with ponies think it would be a lesser list if I said what she isn't growing but I can have a pick of anything so she tells me

As for the garden.................pics will be put up later as Im half way through what Im doing

Bit early for me to put up pics but plans are

spuds
carrots
onions
swede
beans
cucumber
tomatoes
peppers
strawberries
the mint , coriander ,parsley etc all coming back through
rhubarb
squash, pumpkin, aubergine
apples and cherries from the trees

tried melon last year but failed , the plants died but may try again !

I just love growing stuff to eat !

I am so jealous of anyone who can plant veg... one hope of mine when we move is to be a little self sufficient! Trouble is the dogs have other ideas about me planting things!!

Mmm me too - I wanted pansies and other lovely flowers (not good with flower names) but no - if I mess about in the earth and they see/smell that I have - they did exactly where I was bloomin' puppy!

This is going to be really interesting. You have to post progress pics and hints and tips as well you know

I'm already reading through and thinking ah yes I planted some of those as well and didn't take a pic, or oooh yes I must get some of those seeds.
So we are all going to be busy

Does anyone know a great way to get to fruit before the rest of nature does? That would be a lovely tip - also when do you know that fruit is ready?

Netting? Scarecrows?

I grow rhubarb - well fenced off .
Not a lot else in bloom atm -
just windowboxes & container stuff really.

C&D - I have a built in bird chaser - only he's not allowed to chase them 'cos he's a pain if only he'd stop when he was told too - then I'd no need for netting or a scarecrow... Netting it is then
