FAO Jackbox....Thanks for the Beef advice!

Thanks so much to Jackbox for the advice on how best to cook a joint of beef. Followed your recipe to the letter and I have to say, it was AMAZING!!! The whole family loved it and even my Mother In Law said it was the best beef she'd ever had and asked for the recipe!! So thanks again. Will be cooking it again, thats for sure!

Awww, thanks, glad I could have been of help.

Have to say, my lot go mad over beef when I do it that way.

Your getting my taste buds going

P.S always remember , you have to start with good ingredients, a poor piece of beef , will be poor no matter how you cook it.

does your method work in an actual slow cooker ?

i havent cooked beef in our slow cooker but got a joint so might try it.
i normally do it in a pot with wine but can be a bit hit or miss!!

It really was the most tender beef I'd ever had. I think it was topside beef and seemed a really nice joint so I didnt want to ruin it. My family will be eternally gratefull!

i dont know,?? i have never used one, I have an aga, so just use the bottom "slow" oven.

But if it "seals" then I cant see why not, only way to find out is give it a try.

Slow-cooking is definitely the ultimate way to cook meat! I've cooked joint of meat in our slow cooker before and they always come out beautifully!

Don't expect to get nice clean cut slices of meat though as it tends to just fall apart!

Depends on your carving knife, and not taking the string off before you cook it

Or the person carving i.e my OH!! For some reason i always get him to carve the meat and it always ends up in chunks rather than slices!
