Seeing a man about a kitchen!

Ooooh-errr!

A man is coming from B&Q in a bit to design my dream kitchen for me! Actually I've already designed the dream kitchen myself, but he's going to give me a quote for the material and work. I've heard that B&Q are excessively pricey, so we'll probably get the units from them, get the worktops off the web, and get a local company to fit it.

The kitchen's pretty small, with some weird and wonderful features, so it's taken some planning! I'll post a couple of pictures later.

Great news! I'm dying for a new kitchen, but must wait a bit!

My mum is having a new one from B&Q, apparantly the units etc are very reasonably priced, but the fitting is extortionate!

She is having someone (not B&Q) to fit it for her also...

Sounds like me about 6 months ago. We had a man come round and design ours, priced it up (very cheap) and then we fitted it ourselves. We've paid it off now and it looks stunning, we got beech units with black worktop. and I brought the most expensive handles, bt they looked gorgeous!

Yep! She's not wrong! We want a solid wood worktop too, and theirs are unbelievably priced, and they charge extra for fitting them They do have a great range of units at very good prices, so I think they're a good choice for those, but the worktop will be coming from elsewhere!

Expect regular updates, this is almost as exciting as moving house!

Oooh, I remember being very jealous when I saw a photo of your kitchen DG! Your fella's a joiner or something, isn't he? Chris and I are fairly handy with a drill and a jigsaw, but it could take us 6 months to fit it ourselves

Ordered some tile samples yesterday and they arrived today - not bad eh? What's more, they're absolutely stunning. I ordered them on a whim, thinking that OH would go nuts at the price of them, but it turns out he hasn't a clue what tiles cost, so £42/sq. m sounds perfectly reasonable to him

I think we're going to go for the polished travertine mosaic:
