Bandit's first kill.

Bandit just caught and killed a rat. It was in the chicken coop when I went out to shut them in for the night. I took the boys out with me as I normally do. Malcolm had clearly twigged something was there but when it came out from under the coop Bandit just got hold of it and did the deed. It died instantly.

Bob used to rat and I never thought anything of it. He was obviously experienced at it, he had lived on a farm previously but I must admit I'm quite surprised my little pup who wouldn't touch my hamster and gets chased by the chickens would have it in him to kill something. I know they all have it in them somewhere but I'm still a bit surprised all the same.

What I'm really pleased with though is that not only did he kill it he brought it to me and gave it up no questions asked.

I knew he had a terrier side in there somewhere!
