GP's and hospital doctors seem very reluctant to talk about anything over the phone these days, I think it got something to do with all the regulations on ''personal data' it's making life a misery for many because of all the extra checks etc. all down to the many fraudsters and crooks using the internet.


I'm beginning to think that the invention of the internet was a waste of time and we'd be much better off without it


I know you can't turn the clock back but why can't you talk about your blood test over the phone, I mean who in the world is going to want that info apart from YOU

I think though a lot of it is poor administration. With Gary, they had a letter from the hospital asking for Vitamin D to be prescribed and yet he still had to actually see a doctor to get it. At that appointment, much like today, the doctor just read the notes and that was that. No need whatsoever to take up valuable appointment time that could be used far more wisely for those who really and urgently need to see a doctor

I agree it's total madness not to be able to get blood results over the phone.. even if it's to be a telephone consultation with the Dr. If my consultants want me to have something, they give me a form..I drop that to my drs and they authorise it and give it to my chemist
