My sister found a puppy !!!

can you believe it, she was walking home (in Stalybridge) and a 12 week old ish pup followed her, it was running about all over the place, the road and everything
she took him to the police station and they told her to take him home if that was ok , and they took her number in case anyone calls them about it.
he is a cross breed, poss GSD dobe/rottie looking at the markings.
She said he is lovely and will keep him if no one claims him.

i cant believe someone hasnt called the police to say he is missing yet

She should probably inform the local pounds/shelters/RSPCA as these, along with the police, are the first places people tend to enquire about lost dogs Also, has she checked for a microchip?

It might be an idea to check with a local vet, not only for microchip but also because they might recognise the dog?

When we went to make Archie's first appointment the vet told us it would be a good idea to put the number and address of the surgery, just in case...

poor little puppy

Hi Emma, if your police are anything like ours then they won't bother. They will just make a note of the report & keep it on file. As Tuti says, it would be a good idea to let it be known at all the local vets. Many people will check with a vet if their pet is missing - just in case it may have been invoved in an accident & taken for treatment.
