I have heard of it and was thinking about entering Barney into it - but I can't remember the details of it or where I read about it

I think its only fair that racing dogs are not allowed - it would'nt really be a fair race if they were would it?

I've found it now
It's Battersea dog's Home and is at Wimbledon.

It's for dogs other than Greyhounds, just for a change.

Would expect a Borzoi to wipe the floor with a greyhound, is it lure chasing or straight line racing as Whippets are good at the lure but not sure about distance straight line running. Think an Irish Wolfhound would take some beating as well, daft really if you are going to ban just three wonder why those three breeds and not some of the other faster sight hounds.

Is this the one the Sun Newspaper is doing?

I've seen some of the photos of the dogs entered, mostly B Collies or their crosses seem to be entered, mmmmm wonder why?

The Company I work for is doing this - and have to admit when the press release came into our office for approval I didn't like the idea of it - and still don't

Stephanie, still not sure whether it is a time trial or lure chasing, or how it is being run, one assumes it is one dog at a time, well I hope it is or I can see problems. The Hound club I help with have held lure chasing sessions at times but you can't run more than one dog unless they are kennel mates and even then they can get very over excited. The best to watch are the Dachshunds who use intelligent reasoning and instead of following the lure blindly round the bends like the sight hounds and the collies they cut the corners and finish up with a very good time.
