I'm sure she will be fine. The date will make no difference.

I'm sure she'll be fine regardless of the date. I'm not superstitious either, well, at least with that particular superstition. Although I do tend to salute the lone Magpie away

Hi Thirteen being an unlucky number originates from the last supper,if judas had sat at the table with the other desciples, there would have been 13,and the rest is history.Gemini54

OMG! Just checked out Wikipedia and there really is a name for the fear of Friday 13th!!

It's called friggatriskaidekaphobia.

I think I'm more frightened of the word than the date!

Of course it won't be a lucky day for you because you'll have to pay the bill ... other than that I guess it will be fine!

Hi In the USA they dont have a 13th floor or elevators going to the 13th if they do have a 13th floor, but in times past they didnt. It makes you wonder when a powerful country follows a superstition Gemini54

It's not just the USA. In Japan and China, the word for the number 4 (in Japanese, shi; a similar phoneme in Chinese but I don't know any Chinese, alas) is a homonym for death, and as such 4 is considered an exquisitely unlucky number-- so much so that it is often spoken 'yon', the older Japanese counter.

Ah, all of our quaint traditions!
