I had to destroy a roo

today I had to kill a roo after it had been hit by a car sometime today, by the time I came across the poor thing it was nearly dead and there was nothing I could do apart from PTS as quickly as I could but I had nothing to use so the only thing left was for me to break its neck, I was a mess by the time I got home, it makes me sick to think how long that poor animal was in pain and no one stop to see if there was anything that could be done for it, luckly there was no off spring in the pouch

Poor animal and what a terrible experience for you. Glad there was no Joey in the pouch.

Poor you, not a good experience. I had to do this with a half dead rabbit once and it made me feel sick!!! Sometimes these things just have to be done though, good job you were around and knew what you were doing - hopefully! I didn't with the rabbit, but I won't go there, it was quick anyways!

Here in Tassie there are alot of road kills,eg Devils, potaroos, possums even in the main parts like glenorchy.
I had never seen a platapus in the wild until I came to live here and where we use to live up in Bothwell there was 5 of them or at lake echo and to see the wedge tail eagle sitting on a fence or flying over head, these are the things you see here then you would on the mainland and its why I love the place.
